Hi Lavs!

If you are a fan of beauty and you are living in Indonesia (esp. Jakarta), I bet you've heard about this new false eyelashes brand called Lavie. They have many good reviews and awesome social media reach. Plus, I just realized that the name of the brand is similar with how I call my readers! Ha, a must try product for me! :D

I actually heard about Lavie about a month ago, but haven't got the chance to get my hands on them. Last week, I finally got the chance to buy them :)
Intended to buy Fleur type at first, but too bad they were sold out, so I decided to try the other types instead.

First pair that caught my eyes was Amarylis.
This pair is quite long, but nothing too dramatic. I personally think that this can give you a boost for length and volume but still acceptable for your daily use.

Second was Rosie.
I think Amarylis and Rosie is quite similar, only Rosie has shorter hair length. Picked up Rosie because it looks really natural thus I don't have to wait for special events to wear it ;) I think Rosie can give you more of volume but not much on the length.

Third was Snowdrop.
Picked this baby up because I've been eyeing for Fleur and the owner said that Snowdrop is similar to Fleur, but only a little more dramatic. I think they will be extremely helpful when you are creating an intense smokey eyes look for special occasions.


Each pair of Lavie Lash cost IDR 30.000 / 3 USD, which I think is affordable since they are handcrafted and made from sterilized human hair. They also claim that the lashes can be used up to 6 times.

If I have a good experience with these types, I'm gonna buy Ivy and Tink for the next purchase, oh and my long-awaited Fleur of course! :)

I'm not a big fan of the packaging.
It doesn't look classy and it looks like a toy somehow.
For me who doesn't do touch up for my mascara, I don't find the chubby packaging troublesome, but I'm just thinking if you want to take this baby on the go, you might have to prepare a bigger makeup bag since it's so chubby!

BRUSH APPLICATOR
The brush is quite different with usual mascara because this one is plastic and the bristles are short.
Many people say that the brush is similar to the benefit they're real mascara. Result wise, I personally don't find this kind of brush is special, since I think it still gives the same effect as a usual mascara brush. Oh, because the brush is so chubby, it is I find it hard to put this on my lower lashes.

FORMULA
I think the formula is more watery compared than usual mascara. I don't know whether this happens to all non-waterproof mascara or not. I also find the formula of this mascara is quite sticky, reminds me of a eyelash glue formula.

BEFORE - AFTER
To tell you the effect of this mascara, let's just show you how it performs on my eyelashes.
The advertising says: no clumping at all! while my thought is.. it still clumps, but not as bad as other mascara. It doesn't make your lashes too spidery.
It gives you just a right volume to your lashes, so as you can see in the picture, my lashes is more visible, but without looking like I'm wearing tons of mascara.

As for lengthening, I don't think this mascara has any lengthening effect, but, you can combine this with a lengthening mascara, the result is so pretty! (try with lengthening mascara primer like the one from Maybelline Long Extreme Double Strech Mascara  that I reviewed here)

STAYING POWER
Even though it's a non-waterproof mascara, from my experience, if I don't rub your eyes or cry, I have no smudging problem. It stays really well. *thumbs up*

REMOVAL
Easy peasy lemon squeezy! Just wash your face with a facial soap, rub gently around your eye area, and tadah.. no black residue or anything left ;)

OVERALL
+ Easy removal :D
+ Jet black, gives a natural amount of volume and make your lashes not too spidery
- Sticky, so if you happen to rub it before it dries and get it on your eyelids, it feels really weird :/

Overall, I'm pretty happy with the purchase, but not sure that I will repurchase this mascara, simply because there are still so many mascaras in the market that I would like to try! :)
